My birth control options are limited: can't do hormones, tiny cervix=surgery for any IUD placement. I got fitted for a diaphragm which is being held up due to insurance company wrangling, and while I was waiting I wondered about sponges. They seem like they might be more convenient than a diaphragm, so I wondered if anyone with experience could share. Thanks! Sue

I used it for a long time - I am now back on the pill for reasons other than birth control. I really liked it, it was convenient, and easy to use. You could stick it in early evening and then leave it in until the next day sometime. The downsides are that the spermicide tastes bad and some women (and the men they have sex with) are sensitive to the spermicide. Try it - I think you will really like it!
