I have been taking birth control for about 2 years, so i know how birthcontrol works, and how it effects me- my question is.......I recently changed from Ortho-tricyclen to YAZ, because i wanted to try low hormones and a shorter period, well How do i know that this birth control is as effective as my other, even though it is a lower hormone. when i first started birth control i was on a pill, that i guess was not strong wnough for me and i bled all month long, with horrible cramps. If Yaz, is too low to be effective wouldnt i have similar side effects? I have been on yaz for aboout a month now, but was curious if i needed to stress about having unprotected sex, when i recently swapped to a lower hormone birthcontrol? Any advice would be awesome! thanks:confused:

As far as protecting you from pregnancy - it is just as effective as the other pills. They would not be able to perscribe and market low dose pills if they didnt work. Now as far as your body is concerned, going down in hormone levels will effect your body, and may cause you to spot etc. like you other experience. but usually if you tought it out, your body will adjust to it.
good luck!
