I am not sure if I have CTS. Both my sisters have had operations for this. I am having a lot of pain in both my arms around and from the elbows down. it is worse at night. Does anyone know if pain in these areas could be CTS?

Yes, it could be. But, if you really want to know what might be wrong, go to a doctor to get referrals or diagnosis for your hands/arms problem.
Also, read through the information archives ( thread topic located at top of CT thread topics page) Websites listed have lots of info on carpal tunnel syndrome.

My primary doctor referred me to an orthopedic surgeon, who requested the EMG. The neurologist came in for the needle part of the test, so was there maybe 5 minutes. A hand surgeon, that I found on my own, did the second surgery.....so one can go to orthopedic surgeon who does ct release, a neurologist, or hand surgeon...or another type of doctor that specializes in ct diagnosis and/or surgery. I think osteopath or someone in physical medicine and rehabilitation might be in that category.
Some places or specialty doctors need a referral from primary or another doctor due to insurance coverage.
vickiw....what type of doctor did your sisters go to? You could probably start there.
