Has anyone experienced a burning sensation along side of neck and ear after having a posterior cervical fusion? I have felt pressure and burning sensation after 5weeks post-op and hoping that this is part of the normal healing process. (C5 thru 7 fusion)

I had a posterior decompression w/o fusion and around 5 weeks I was getting weird "nerve firings" in my arms to the point where I could hardly feed myself - it did go away, don't remember timing. Hang in there - posteror surgery is a more difficult recovery than ACDF because of the large muscles being cut.

Take it slow - be patient (easier said than done).

Thanks so much. I'm hoping that this burning sensation will pass but the doctor did not think it was attributed to the fusion and I really don't want to think of something else going on. I have read that this procedure takes time to heal.
