I recently posted that I was diagnosed with fatty liver during gallbladder surgery. I follow up with my surgeon tomorrow. I have had fever all day. It is at 101 right now. I don't want it to get any higher. Is it ok to take tylenol? Tylenol is the only thing I know to take to bring temps down. I can't take ibuprofen or nsaid's (make me vomit blood). I think the reality of what my doctor told me and that something is wrong with my liver is just hitting me right now.

I would call the ER and ask to speak to a nurse and ask the question. They may tell you to come in ( they need to make money) or call the on-call doctor for your clinic. Fever is not good, especially if you just had surgery. You could have an infection starting from your incision, and that is nothing to mess with. Call a Doctor and ask. ASAP

I definitely agree with liver99 on this one. You really need to see a Dr asap, especially for something post surgery like this.

Thanks for the replies. I have an appointment with my surgeon first thing in the morning, actually 12 hours from now. I was just wondering if it would be ok to take 2 tylenol to bring my temp down until I see him. Normally I would have gone to the ER, I just decided not to since I have my appointment first thing in the morning.

BTW - thanks for the suggestion. I did call and ask a nurse. She suggested that I not take more that 2 tylenol.
Thank yall so much. It feels so good to have a place like this to come to.
