topic explode!

Even my sons teachers mother has lung cancer, and her oncologist sent her for a consult for the tomo therapy machine. And hers is sc, that just spread to the bones. Chemo never worked for her.

Wondering why I haven't heard, as again over the weekend, my uncle heard on the news that this is a miracle treatment for lung cancer patients.

My mom has her scans this weekend, and a meeting with her oncologist on the 30th about it.

Hi.. no, I haven't heard anything about this kind of targeted radiation therapy; I just searched the internet and found out about this and other targeted radiation on the Univ of Maryland and Johns Hopkins web sites. It sounds like it is being used for various types of cancers. Here are some links that provide more info in case others are interested. One of the links (the Univ of Md) allows you to post general questions to a researcher, so maybe you can learn more about how it would benefit your mother. Hope this is helpful.
