Hi, My name is Katrina I am 31 years old. I am having a hard time right now. I can't even explain whats going on I'm so jumbled in my head. I think I have ADD. My daughter was diagnosed at age 4 she is now 10. I think I passed it down. Is it possible? Here are a few things that really bother me. I have a hard time saying a sentence because something else pops into my head. I can't even finish washing my dishes because I can't focus enough. As a matter of fact I can't finish anything completely. My house has become a mess. Its not dirty just so unorganized. I am fed up and I can't do anything about it. I have tried so hard and I have a million things going on in my head. Its like a party where everyone is invited and I can't stand it anymore. I just want to scream. Lately I have been getting angry its so bad. I have a bad temper when I am trying to do something and am interupted. You have no idea how hard it is for me to write this. My mind is going a mile a minute. So excuse my writing. Can anyone help? Has anyone ever felt like this. I am not sure what to do from here. I am completely lost. And, this is ruining my marriage. HELP!!!

Any advice would appreciated.

Katrina

Dear Katrina,

Seek medical intervention ASAP. Diagnosing is one of the first steps to treatment.

Take care and God Bless.Love and Peace.Forthemasses only.

Katrina,

God Bless You, you have a lot going on right now, don't you? I noticed that you posted several other issues (on different boards). I think that you should seek some medical help for your pain and some counseling to help you deal with your moods and possible abusive relationship. I wouldn't worry about whether or not you have ADD until you get those things sorted out. No one would be able to concentrate with so much going on in their life!

Good luck to you!

Dear Katrina.
Even if you have ADD or ADHD, this is not the reason to be disappointed, believe me. I have ADHD. THis is who I am and I accept myself completely.

It's better to find understanding doctor and to get through the diagnostic procedure. Usually it is a Questionaire, consisting of several questions. Also your doctor might suggest some blood work testing or something else. Frankly, it's not so easy to find a doctor, who knows ADD/ADHD. Try to search on the Internet. The most important thing for you is to understand who you are, to know your strong and weak sides. If you really have ADD/ADHD and it will be confirmed, I think, it will be much easier for you to talk to your husband and to explain to him why you do or don't do some things (because you can't or it's difficult for you, or YOU JUST DO it DIFFERENTLY AND HAVE DIFFERENT LEARNING STYLE!). As for expressing thoughts, yes, words don't come easy to ADD people. There are problems with short-term memory amd auditory processing. Expressing thoughts is connected with auditory processing deficits. So, it's not just focusing porblem, this is many-sided "phenomenon":)

And please, try to relax, maybe it's the life time opportunity for you to explore yourself.

Good luck.
