Hello everyone. I am posting to update you on my best friends cancer. Pat, only 48 years old has Stage III cancer. I didn't know until this week anything about the type, etc. She has started chemo and radiation and so far is doing well. They did tell her since she was young and otherwise in very good health, she had a lot better percentage than an older person would at this stage.

Does anyone have an experience with stage III? Any info would be greatly appreciated, treatment options, etc.

Sometimes I'm not sure if devastated is strong enough a word. However, as grief stricken, frustrated, weary and sometime angry as I get, I still feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I have a lovingly devoted, supportive and faithful wife who has given me 3 awesome little children who brighten any day. Sometimes I feel as if I'm being "robbed" of it all ...but then I know that none of us are promised tommorow and that life is a precious gift as short as it is.

How did caner happen to us? I expect we will never know, but suspect it is more than likely genitic. I've resolved that if I wake up tommorow, I will strive to live in such a way that counts for something and just be thankful that I got the chance.
