Car accident happened over 15 months ago.I was prescribed everything under the sun to mask the pain and make life a little more tolerable.Little did I know that my symptoms were actually getting worse.

Does anyone else feel the need to "experience" their pain as compared to masking it with large doses of medications?

Take care and God Bless.Love and Peace.Forthemasses only.

I cannot stand how spaced out I get on medications. I work as an elem. school substitute teacher. I cant take drugs and do that job. I think I am sensitive to how I react to drugs. I try Celebrex for the arthritis part of my neck issue, but its a minimal help. The only thing that touches my pain makes me so spaced out I cannot function in my daily life, so I am living with it. But all this is pushing me to having surgery to hopefully lessen the pain. (and numbness in the hands).

Dear skziemann,

I hear what you are saying and can definitely relate. My left sided neck pain and shoulder pain has increased and has spread to my arms, wrists and fingers. The injections don't seem to work at all. I know that the inevitable approaches (surgery) so I better get my mind to accept it.

Enjoy the holiday.:)

Happy Holiday to you, too.
Today I just found out I am likely to have my surgery the day after I see my surgeon, which is Dec. 19th. Apparently they are going to pull stings and get me in prety quick. I guess I will find out soon. Its weird not being able to plan for a surgery, since I am not positive when the heck it would be. (either before Xmas or in Jan!)
The way I look at the surgery is....now at least I have some hope of pain relief. Before I felt so totally stuck in the pain. 5 yrs is long enough.
Take care!

Dear skziemann,

View it as either an early Christmas present or a late one, depending on the surgery.

Take care and God Bless.Love and Peace. For the masses only.
