I think I'm allergic to my boyfriend's bed...
Whenever he stays over at mine I'm fine, but when I sleep in his bed, my skin goes really itchy all over, and also my face gets a bit swollen, especially round my eyes. This can take up to a week to disappear completely.
I've told him and he washed all his sheets in a different washing powder for the next time I came over and I was fine that night, but not the night straight after that.
I have eczema and sensitive skin anyway, which I can normally keep under control, but what could be causing this??
Thanks

If it's not the laundry powder then is it possible that the materials in the bed or mattress itself might be the culprit? Many people are allergic to feathers, so a feather bed or down duvet would make life miserable.
It certainly does sound like an allergy, from your description. Perhaps allergy testing is in order?
I wish you luck, because I truly know how you feel.

Does he have feather pillows? I'm allergic to those and if I get stuck with one at a hotel, I wake up a mess.

I had the same problem & found out i was allergic to bed bugs really bad. Is your mattress & pillows covered? Is his covered? It may not be this but it is an idea that came in my head.

Does he use dryer sheets? That might be the culprit, not the detergent. Maybe have him in wash the sheets in the brand of detergent you use and with out any fabric softener. That will solve the mystery once and for all whether it is the detergent.
Like the others said, feather pillows could be a culprit.
It could also be dustmites. Perhaps his mattress is older and he just has more dustmites than yours does.

It very well might be the dustmites in the bed. How old is the mattress? They say something like 10 million dustmites can live in a mattress that is only a few years old.

yep, I actually sell vacuums, filterqueens if you must know, and yes they are absolutely amazing, expensive at first, but in the long run, they are pretty cheap when you think about it (due to the rediculous warranty!). so i have all sorts of info in my head now. it goes like this.
if you take any brand new queen size matress, put it in your house and use it, if you remove it 10 years later, it on average will weigh 100 POUNDS MORE! all of that is from dust mite poop, dead skin, and dead dustmites! Nasty! there is an enzyme in their poop that causes allergic reactions and asthma reactions in many people.
if i don't take my zyrtec-d sometime before i go to bed, my nose will get plugged up and i can't sleep untill i take it so i can breathe. and actually i just got a brand new mattress (I just so happened to be upgrading in size) and i have sometimes forgotten to take my medicine and been too lazy to get up and do it, and i noticed that my nose didn't really get plugged!
