Hi All,

I have a question. About 2 weeks I was sitting in my hot tub. I started smoking cigars while in the hot tub about 2 months ago. I haven't smoked cigars for about 3 - 4 years prior to that. I got out of the tub, dried off, and went to bed to watch some TV. My tongue started to feel rough. It would bother my throat when drawn back into it's normal position. It made my throat feel like I had hair or a corn kernel stuck in it. When I looked at it, it seemed like my taste buds were swollen. My tongue sort of felt like sandpaper towards the middle and back. about 5 days later I went to a walk in doctor place. He looked at my mouth for about 3 minutes. It seemed like he looked for a while for some reason. Then he says, "You have a mild case of thrush. have you been on Antibiotics recently?" Now, I was on antibiotics about 4 - 6 weeks prior to this due to a UTI. I actually was on it for about 17 days.

The problem is, I don't think this was thrush. There was no white cottage cheese stuff. There was no burning or sores. As I said, it seemed like my taste buds where inflamed and they were rubbing the top of my mouth and back of my throat. I could poke my tongue out and push it against the top of my mouth then slowly move it back to its normal position feeling the rough spot entering the back of my throat. He almost like just said something and then rushed me out of there. It was one of those walk in joints. Now, the problem seemed to start going away that day and was completely gone about 2 days later with no reoccurance. I am taking the last of the mycelex trouches tonight. I have also been under tremendous stress lately and over worked.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Was this a case of dry mouth or inflamed taste buds? Anyone? HEEEEELP! :)

Have you had any kind of joint pain in or around your joints? If you have I would google Reactive Arthritis. ReA can somtimes follow a UTI. It can cause a sore tounge, gentile sores and joint pain.
