hey ya'll, I wanted to know if anyone else experiances the following side effects while on adderall.

Ok, I take 60 mg a day. xr am and regular in afternoon. I've noticed my face at times gets all flushy like (redness) and some appears on my arms. It's not itchy or painful though.

I'll get cold hands or feet. Ussually just on my right side.

I'll also at times feel this rushing sensation in my legs, the kind of feeling when you cut off circulation by sitting on legs in a certain way, when the blood comes back in it's this feeling of rushing.

and this one is weird and hard to explain but like I'll drum my fingers if you know what I mean... I been on adderall for 3 years. Anyone else have these side effects???

I have had the same flushness in the afternoon or late evening when my dose is wearing off. it was really prevelant in the first couple of weeks and now comes and goes from time to time.

As for numbness, I haven't had any. My fingers do get chilled very easily. Make sure you get your cholesteral and blood sugar checked because those can show up with Adderall as being issues if you did not notice them before.

Oh man my hands and feet have always been cold but now they are freezing and NOTHING seems to make them warm. I am considering the battery powered heated socks.

this is strange in my opinion, and i may be wrong, but i doubt it has to do with the stimulant because wouldn't a stimulant cause energy which in turn creates warmth *gulp* i think i'm wrong here, but i myself never had any of those side effects, i love the cold and i'll walk in the rain in shorts and a t-shirt whenever it rains, i'm never cold to the extent that i complain or i get under covers to stay warm

Stimulants actually constrict veins and capillaries, and dilate arteries (think i've got it right)...at any rate, the blood vessels to your skin constrict, so you feel cold. I get the same thing. Not sure I'm saying this right, though, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. Sue

I have not felt this, but I have lost a lot of weight, and I don't want to lose anymore! I started taking a womens multi vitamin, and a vitamin for hair, and I am eating more than I have ever! I even eat late at night, and even wake up and eat a nice size snack! I'm just taking 20mg 2 times a day/Addwerall??

i have been taking adderall for about 4 years, and i also have problems with circulation in my hands and feet , as well as excessive underarm sweating, while on the medication. Are these things related? If so, is there anything i can do to counteract them?

When I take a lot of adderall (90+mg short release) over the course of a day my feet turn purple - nearly black. My knees turn lighter purple and you can see veins all over my legs... it's so nasty. All of this dissipates with elevation and moving around. Um, and taking less adderall.

I tend to take more adderall when I have a lot of work to do, obviously (I'm a law student). Because I have to sit to do my work that naturally decreases the circulation so I can't tell if it's a combination of adderall and sitting on my *** all day or just the adderall.

My ears and nose turn bright red and burn sometimes at the end of the day. This happens more when I'm tired.

Sometimes when I take too much (by "too much" I mean over the span of 2-3 days, not at once) I get that cracked out feeling where my brain is all spacy and I can't think straight. Sometimes when that happens I can still study, just not the way I want to study. Usually I have to get into a study group rather than sit and pretend like I can focus/think.

I do not experience any of these symptoms when I treat my body the way I'm supposed to treat it, ie lots of sleep, no cigarettes, no all nighters, and limiting myself to my prescribed dosage (60mg). My feet rarely turn purple when I go to bed at a decent hour and don't fool myself into thinking that I can study for 16 hours a day... in any case that's a waste of a life. But sometimes it has to be done.

Obviously none of this is good, but I think a lot of people have similar symptoms - just wanted to let them know that they are not alone. I hope this helped and if anyone has questions go ahead and ask... can't guarantee answers during finals time though :)

You need to check your blood pressure ASAP....this could be a cardio type of reaction. Please go to walmart and have it checked. People have suddenly died because of adderall in the past.

For you thegoose,

My doc says the sweating (I mentioned my anti-perspirant has seemed to have stopped working) is something he commonly hears from his other patients. Good ole Degree didn't cut it so I switched to Certain Dri. It's a little different, you put it on at night and it has really helped.

yeah-my hands and my feet get cold, but if I try to warm myself up-I just sweat, and my hands and feet stay cold. I'm not sure if stimulants constrict capillaries and opens arteries-it sounds about right. however, when your body releases heat your capillaries dialate to give off heat. You know the saying in the patient leaflet-If these side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. good luck.
