I was diagnosed with ADHD two weeks ago. I started at 40mg a day on Adderall XR and bumped it up to 60mg. Its been working great for me after getting through the first few days. My focus and attention span have clearly increased and I can actually sit through a training class without having to get up and move around every 30 minutes. But as of four days ago, I have been getting really depressed. I'm so depressed I can't find enjoyment in anything. All I want to do is attempt to sleep or hide in a room by myself. This has been so horrible I am considering getting off of the medication because this is worse than being hyper all the time. Is this common? Does depression also exist if you are ADHD? I love the effects of feeling normal on ADHD meds in the beginning, but this depression is way too much. Help!

Unfortunately, yes, stimulants can cause depression.
