Hi Iam an 18 year old male and for maybe two years now i have had the strangest feelings in my head. sometimes its like a burning other times it's like a pressure, but most of the time it is just so wierd that i cant explain it. I know something is wrong, ive been to the dr. numerous times but he hasnt helped at all, i mean he's sent me for a CT scan, neurological exam, and an eeg or ekg. Lots of times my head feels really tight and i cant help but move my scalp (by not moving my head) it feels like if dont it will just keep getting tighter. al the scans and stuff have turned nothing up i have even been to the emergency room about it but yet again nothing. this has really started since i moved into my new house. im always getting a big pulsing in my head every once in a while its like something kicking out of my head i can feel it, its like something is popping. i also get lots of clicking and squeeking in my temple area, and i also get really bad head rushes when i stand up almost like im going to black out. Hot showers seem to help/quell the feelings for a little bit but then it just comes back. if anybody has ANY idea what this is plese help me i have no idea what to do any more it is affecting my entire life i cannot live with this much longer..

If this started since you've been in this house... part of me thinks it might have something to do with allergies. If its a brand new house, it might have something to do with chemicals or materials used to make the house.. if its an older house.. perhaps some sort of mold among many other possibilies. You may need someone to come in and somehow test the house, but I'm not sure who you would go to for that. You can get an EXTENSIVE and COMPLETE Allergy test done with an Allergist. It might be advisable to try and live somewhere else for a month or more and see if your sypmtoms go away (But not in a simular house!). Get an XRAY of your Sinuses to see if there is something going on in there. If you think you've been congested in any way you can try decongestants. If you have a sinus pressure build up in your head, that can prove to be fatal in some instances. Part of me is also suspicious of TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome)

If you haven't had an MRI done on your brain, you can get that done. You may want to have an MRI of your neck done as well since some syptoms in the body can be related to neck problems. You could also get an MRA of your brain and an MRA of your neck as well to take a look at your arteries. I think they can do that test or something simular to take a look at the heart as well.

If you haven't seen a neurologist or neurosurgeon yet, you may want to do this, they may have a LOT more insight into your situation if it has something to do with your head. Ask your doctor to start giving you names of specialists that might help you start ruling out every possibility of what this could be. See whoever else might be suggested as well.

The important thing is not to give up until you find the answer. Get extreamly persistant with this doctor to get them to help you more. You don't have to just accept the outcome of what they say. If a test comes back normal or inconclusive, start complaining a lot so that they know how serious you are so that they will take you seriously... Always ask what other tests you could take or who the next kind of specialist is that you should see for your situation. You have the right to request for certain tests to be done. You are not alone, many people get lost and scared when trying to figure out what is wrong with them, including me, just hang in there and be a fighter for your life, you are worth it in every way. Sometimes doc's just don't know either, so they might need a little push OR you may want to see another doctor for a second opinon.

Getting a second opionon when you hit a road block is sometimes helpful. I've heard of peopele being to as many as 4 doctors (perhaps even more) just to try and get their situation figured out. Eventually by continually going to other docs for their input, one of them will (hopefully) know what to do or who to referr you to. Good luck to you, and please get on this ASAP, you are worth it, be aggressive in finding out what is going on with you, and if they want to try and send you off on your merry way, that's when you say NO! there is something very wrong with me, you must help me! Be bold, but be respective as well as these doctors are trying to help you.

So all in all, you could get an extensive allergy test with an allergiest, an Xray of your head/sinuses to check for infection and presure build up; you can ask to have TMJ ruled out, MRI of NECK and HEAD and MRA of the NECK and HEAD, and perhaps something like that for the heart, but I don't know much about the heart to know if it would be related to your symptoms. You can see a Neurosurgeon or Neurologist or any other recommended specialist (perhaps something like a doc with Infectious Diseases, Rheumatologist or Orthopedic docs). You can also ask for extensive blood labs to be done to see if it has something to do with your chemistry. Remember to be persistant, and don't give up. Become a fighter for your life and be optamistic for a cure. Don't get discouraged if one or several doors close on you.. just keep moving forward for the answer. If you start feeling down, try to remember what I said about being optamistic and a fighter. Have Faith! God Bless you and please keep us posted, I wish you a quick and speedy diagnosis and recovery!!!

Until you see an allergist, in the meantime you could try to see if something like claritin or benadryl might help relieve your symptoms a bit. You could ask a pharmacist which one might help better with the symptoms you are having. I know benadryl can make some people drowsy or hyper, but if it helps, its better than probably feeling the way you do now, and you don't need a prescription to obtain them. Just be sure to follow dosing and frequency as directed. Good luck and God Bless!

You coulod also see an ENT (ear nose throat specialist) to have your ears checked.... could cause the weird popping & clicking you mentioned. pressure though...... probably just from your sinus and very well could be allergy related.

Warning though, nasal misters to decongest, can ease the problem for up to 12 hours BUT it comes right back 3 times worse for most people (such as myself) and they can't/shouldn't be used for more than a few days at a time due to damaging your nasal lining or somthing like that... also, I used nasal steroids which made my nose close up 110% on 2 different one... 1 was flonase or flutica---something or other, can't remember the names......
I tried nasonex too and it helped but not till i was on it for 3 weeks and it dried my nose out BIG TIME so, i went off all nasal inhalers PERIOD and just use singulair, allegra and am currently doing the allergy shots which SUCK (the shots that is) cause i feel like full blow doodee right after for a day or 3. The allergy pills took around 2 months for me to even notice any real difference but I gotta say, my nose is opened up about 60% better, I don't have the pressure that feels like my brian is being sucked out (very odd feeling), i assume that is due to less inflamation in nasal passages. I also, don't have as much weird body feelings (except once in a while, maybe 2x a weeks, were as i was having it 24/7). I am allergic to many things though and am living with my dog in the house who i am supposedly mildly allergic too. One the the allergy doc said to me is this, you can have a mild allergy to many things and be fine as long as you are only exposed to say (in my case one mild thing at a time) and be fine, BUT if exposed to 2 of the mild allergins at once it's the same as being exposed to one of your stronger allergins.

Anyway,
what I was told (in my case) was happening, was daily exposure to too many of my mild allergins which was not causing what most people know as "anaphylactic shock" or even a simple runny nose..... Mine was causing me to have what's called an "Anaphylactoid Reaction".... ***zar stuff! Look it up on the net. It could be exactly what's happening to you too. I thought I was suffering from anxiety attacks... but it was a mild anaphylactoid attack instead due to allergies. I've been suffering with this for maybe 3 or 4 years now... You couldn't have paid me a million bucks to get me to believe it was allergies! I'd of laughed myself to death!! .......... but now, I know. and even though, it still sucks at times.... it's not as often or as strong and besides... I can rest now knowing, it's not a heart attack, depression or in my mind at all. It's allergies.....

Good luck, I'm sure you'll find your answers in time. :)
