Any opinions about nuva ring? I am currently on Yasmin birth control pills and had a free trial for nuva ring but wasn't sure if I wanted to try it or not. It seems different, but I would also be scared that I would get back all the bad things that Yasmin takes care of for me (no bloating, no getting sick during periods, regulating my skin). I'm not sure if it's worth trying it.. but I would appreciate feedback so I can learn more about it. Thanks!

Hi, I was on Nuva Ring for a year and everything was fine! No bloating and no weight gain. I personally think that BC itself does NOT make someone gain weight. It's all about the person's dietary choices. Anyways, I can't really comment about skin problems because I never had any before the ring and never had any while I was on it. Also, I never got sick during my periods before the ring, but the ring did make my periods much shorter (about 3 days instead of 5) and lighter. The ring is great because you don't have to worry about taking your BC everyday, it's always in there! Also, you can take it out for up to 3 hours, so you don't have to have sex with the ring in (although I read on these boards that some people don't mind leaving it in!). The reason I stopped using it was because I developed some unrelated symptoms - sinus problems, congestion, dizziness - and I wanted to completely eliminate any foreign substancs from my body and kind of get myself back to my "natural" form.
