i have my endoscope in 2 weeks, my main problems with my reflux are throat issues, will the endoscope show anything around the throat area or is it mainly just from your stomach etc?

Just had one a month ago. No big deal as you're in the Twilight Zone. My report covered the esophagus and stomach. Your doc. will probably talk to you just before they put you under and you can ask about the "throat."

i was just gonna opt for the throat spray, i dont fancy being put under!

Better to be knocked out. Almost no1 can handle the gag reflex.

As for the "scope" of the test, GEs are not interested in the throat. They generally just brush you off to an ENT and let him look at it. "Not my responsibility." If they look at the throat for you, you're lucky.

Thats nasty, mean we can stil suffer from other major thing even we already went to visit a specialist? I think I have LPR but my GI didn't say anything even after my scope. Well nowadays seeing a doc doesnt put you at ease as before.

and yeah I agree with the sedative... even with the sedative I still up and gag like crazy what more without.

I have had two Endoscopy's one was 10 years ago with the sedative and I recall gaging, I also had one on the 17th august of this year with only the throat spray and it was no big thnig.

I am a real worrier and I did it with just the spray (peace of cake)
