I was recently doing research on things that could strengthen one's heart. I came accross a lot about this supplement called co-enzyme Q10.
Has anyone used it and know if the results have been positive? Let's say hypothetically that my heart is not weakened, would it be be hurtful to use the supplement then? If someone did use this supplement, what is the appropriate dosage?
Thanks in advance.

I took 100 mg. for a year and then 50 mg. for a year.
In truth, I noticed no effect from it so I stopped buying it becasue it is among the pricier of supplements..

I take Co Enzyme Q10. I have read it's good for all the cells in your body and good for your heart. It's also something that's depleted when taking cholesterol medication so it's wise to take the supplement if you're taking one. Why don't you check it out further via google and you'll see for yourself. It is pricey, but I personally think it's worth it. There are certain places you could get it for reasonable costs. It also goes on sale at various vitamin shops.

As, lolasmom, states it is beneficial for cell maintenance, and as I remember years ago there were favorable results for the chemical as an assist to treatment of cancer (especially recognized in breast cancer) post operatively. For cancer patients it enhances the immune system by protecting cells from free radicals (chemical produced when molecules split) that can damage parts of the cell (i.e. DNA or lipids).
It is a chemical compound produced naturally by the body but certain drugs that lower cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. can decrease the efficacy of the chemical. Consequently, taking the supplement when on chol and BP lower regimen, may be a wise choice if vulnerable to breat cancer, etc., but I don't know of any direct effect to the heart specifically?
