Hi Everyone

Back in 2005 after my 6 week followup after birth I had a pap test that came back abnormal, I began going for rechecks every 6 months, had two more paps that came back normal and then my latest pap in July came back abnormal. Two and a two weeks ago I went for a colposcopy, biopsy and ECC I wasnt really even sure what to expect. The doc explained my results from July had come back abnormal with possible low grade but that high grade could not be excluded so he said he was going to take some samples.

When he did the colposcopy he said he only saw one little spot of concern, he told me he removed those cells and then cauterized my cervix with a silver solution? When he was done I was told the results would be in two weeks and that he would like to see me back in 3 months for a follow up pap.

Now its been 2 1/2 weeks and I havent gotten a call from my drs office, im not sure if they will even call me if everything checks out. Just seems from reading alot of your experiences that you got the results first and then removed the cells, has anyone had an experience like this? I just dont know what to expect from here on in. Any help is appreciated Thanks :)

Please be proactive and call your doctor! They need to let you know one way or the other what the lab results were and they should definitely be back by now. If it was mild dysplasia you'll likely be asked to return in three months for a repeat pap to see if your body fought off the virus and was able to go back to regenerating normal cells. During the colposcopy, the suspicious area was removed but if it is high grade, the doc will probably want to do a leep just to be sure he got everything. If you want to do everything YOU can to fight off the HPV virus that causes all this, check out my reply to the post Looking for Reassurance where I share the vitamin and mineral therapy my doctor had me go on which worked for me and I feel compelled to share with everyone! Best of luck to you!

well I took your advise and called the doctors office today, I was told that the biopsy and everything can back normal. So I guess now I just go back in February for a recheck pap. I feel so relieved :)
