My 17 mo old DD started to go pee and poop this last weekend in the potty chair. I know she wont be out of diapers quit yet but I am wondering at what age do they know that have to go pee? When they know the sensation? I cant remeber what it says about that. We sat her down and she went, so it wasn't voluntary. Thanks

All three of ours were within a few months of their third birthdays, either before or after. We just did what you did, put out the potty chair, took them to the bathroom with us from time to time and talked it up, but other than that we let them take the lead. That was on the advise of our ped. It worked very well. All three just one day told us they had to go potty and that was the END of diapers literally. It happened just that quickly.
