my 9-month-old son seems to be allergic to strawberries (he became congested when i ate them while nursing and also after eating stage 2 baby food). we eliminated strawberries from his diet. he was fine for a while. then he started getting congested again. we have not been able to pinpoint what is causing the allergies, but he does eat a stage 2 baby food that contains raspberries. i'm wondering if people with strawberry allergies are more prone to raspberry allergies? i'm going to eliminate all berries for a while to see what happens.

not saying that this is not allergies, but usually people who have reactions to strawberry or raspberry usually have hives or rashes. it is not usually sinus trouble. my son gets rashes on his cheeks when he eats citrus fruits. but he also has other allergies that we have be unable to pinpoint. his scratch test failed, and we were told to wait until he was about 2. he was 13 months at the time. he is on singulair and zyrtec for his allergies which consist of allergic rehnitis (sp?) and severe eczema.
if you are still concerned about allergies, then you should ask your dr or take him to a allergist.
good luck and take care.
