I need to find a birth control method that works well...I have had so many people tell me depo vera isn't good so I'm going to cancel that one out (it works for some I know, but IMO I don't want to try it)but I have heard some that lower your sex drive and I don't really want that. I just had a miscarriage so I haven't had a period, my periods are regular, well have been in the past. But I don't know, there is one with the ring, the patches, the pill and I just want different opinions on them.

I agree that you shouldn't try Depo yet. It is very hard on your body, and if nothing else there is a high correlation between Depo and bone demineralization. I would definitely try other methods before Depo. I know many women love it, and as long as it works for them that is great, I just think you should try other hormonal methods first!
Anyhow, you can get about 1,000,000 different oppinions on what is best. Each woman responds differently to different pills, the patch, the ring. So the best thing to do is to get the advice of your doctor (though, they may just first give you what their favorite drug rep sells). I have been on a couple triphasic pills and I never liked them, but my best friend loves the one she is on. I was on the Nuvaring for a while and the ease was GREAT. I really liked it, but after a couple years I started experiencing break outs and bloating. Now I am on Yasmin (a monophasic pill) and I really like it. Its all just trial and error when selecting a hormonal method of birth control. I'd personally start with a good monophasic pill and try it for 3 months then evaluate if you are experiencing lingering side effects, you are being good about taking it every single day, and if you are happy with it. If not, try another one or something like the ring or patch.

I am also on Yasmin and have been very happy with it. I know some people who were moody on it, but they were moody to BEGIN with, so that's a whole different story! The pill is great.. but if you think it would be too much of a hassle to remember to take it, then you may try something else. The patch is very similar to the pill, and you don't have to think about it as much. There is a risk of skin irritation. A friend of mine said hers bothered her a lot, but this doesn't happen to everyone. I used to go tanning (stopped to save my skin), so using the patch would have been bad or I would have a weird square shape white mark on me! Then there's the nuva ring, which is also similar to the patch and pill. When I say similar, I mean the protection it gives and the hormones used, not the way it is used of course! Oh and if you are wanting ever to skip a period (vacation, big event, etc..) then you should try a monophasic pill where each pill has the same dosage. Yasmin is like this and many others are as well.

Yeah I will look into that, I was curious about the nuvaring moreso then any otehr one. But I would probably be better off taking the pill instead of anything. So I will look into it.
Also any more suggestions would help....I appreciate the ones I got, VERY helpful
