I was looking for some quick and healthy breakfast suggestions for someone trying to lose weight. I have to be at work relatively early (8AM) and was trying to find some suggested breakfast items that are quick and easy to make plus are nutritious and will help me with getting my metabolism going. Any help will be appreciated.

How about making a batch of hard-boiled eggs to have handy in the fridge? Or keep a stash of Zone bars around. 210 calories, lots of protein. The peanut butter & chocolate ones are tasty! You could measure out servings of a healthy cereal like Kashi Go Lean Crunch and put them in little ziploc baggies to grab on your way out of the house. Snack on it dry while you're driving to work. Stonyfield Farms makes an awesome, organic low-fat yogurt. Try the strawberry!

Good luck. :)

I normally just grab a banana and a small glass of orange juice for breakfast. MM And Cream of Wheat is good too!

oatmeal is great for quick breakfasts (the plain kind). have it with cut up banana on top or a few dried fruits and its really good, filling and healthy.

or...a piece of fruit and a handful of plain unsalted nuts.

a piece of wholemeal bread spread with some natural peanut butter

a home made smoothie

a few crackers with cottage cheese

a piece of fruit and a spoonful of peanut butter

scramble an egg in the microwave

those are my staple breakfasts that i can think of right now...

Those are great suggestions, ding.

How do you scramble an egg in the microwave? I've never heard of that one.

its really easy, just crack an egg (or 2 if you're hungry) in a bowl and mix it up with a fork. then put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, stir it abit, then put it in for a little longer. they cook really quickly, so keep an eye on it. the time depends on the power of your microwave and how firm you like the egg...
