I am about to begin IMRT for PC. Are there dietary or other ways to prevent or ameliorate the side-effects of incontinence, rectal poblems, tiredness. I welcome any tips or experiences. Thank you in advance.

The skill level and experience of the practitioner administering the treatment usually offers the best chance of avoiding or minimizing side effects. Having it done in a major teaching institution of excellance where they have a high volume of procedures is your best assurance that your radiation/oncologist has the skills and experience necessary to achieve the best results. A recent article in the NY Times warned of specialty practice groups who acquire Their own IMRT unit because its so profitable to own the equipment. I would not trust a private practitioner outside of a major teaching center.
