I've been lurking here, but afraid to ask the questions... I've had a swollen lymph node under my chin (along my jaw) on the right side for several weeks. I've seen my doctor 3 times about it. The first time, she said don't worry about it. The second time, she put me on antibiotics for it. I still have one day left of the antibiotics, and yesterday saw the doc for my son, and asked about it again. She said she felt like it was getting smaller, so to finish the antibiotics and give it some time.
I have really no other symptoms of anything. I've also had blood work done about a month ago, that showed no abnormalities.
But I am having so much anxiety about this... could it really be something? Should I just trust my doc? How long should I wait to see an ENT (she was going to refer me, until she said she thought it was getting smaller with the antibiotics)? Is this something I should worry about?
Thank you.

I am sure your doctors are right. Please believe in them. I know its hard to. When you read peoples symtoms especially whe they apperar to be the same or similar to yours it does become worrying.
Go with the flow as they say. Just keep monitoring the lump (try not to daily) and go back if you still notice more change.
Keep smiling

Hi there, I hope you are feeling better, please do not worry I know it is hard, I find that can sometimes make you feel worse off. Trust in your doctor, at least she is aware of it, and treating you. If you are still unhappy ask to be refered or for a second opinion.
I have a lump on my neck and it doesn't hurt, and I appriciate your worst fears, I too have children and I have to stay positive for them.
Good luck!

May you both stay positive!!! I know the "not-knowing" stage of things is real hard to deal with but at least the doctors already know about the lump and you went through the anti-biotic cycle. Just keep an eye on it, don't touch it too much and if you notice any change in shape, size, hardness, etc, or if it keeps on worrying you too much, go back to your doctor and share your concerns with him/her!
Keep your head up, thinking of ya, take care of yourself alright!! *hugs*
