I don't live in Mississippi, and am not sure exactly where you are, but I'm trying to help, here are some names I found:
They are all located in Flowood, MS and appear to be board certified. The first two did training or whatnot at John Hopkins.
John D. Davis
Jack Moriarity
W. Lynn Stringer
Good luck to you and God Bless, it sounds like you need immediate attention!

thank you,
i am in picayune, ms it is about and hour from gulfport, biloxi, and hattiesburg.
The dr. i seen was in hattiesburg and was highly recommended by my family dr. who also works with me and sees the pain i go through, he has been working with me at 2 diff hospitals since 2002 he knows the kind of person i am and told me to suck up my pride take time off of work and get the help i need.(he could see the pain in my face) he is scared for me and was very upset about the way the ortho treated me. he highly recommended this ortho and was shocked the way they treated me.
my family dr. helped me go through vocational rehab so they would pay for my dr.s and help me get to a point where i can work again, because i am not on workers comp or anything and dont have insurance.
Most people are forced to go through voc rehab and don't want to work, so as much as i don't want to say this because i work in the medical profession, but the fact of the matter is that dr.s are very highly opinionated when it comes to a young adult c/o pain, because there is so much abuse of the system and people addicted to pain medication.
a few days after all my tests the ortho's nurse called and said "there are some abnormalities but nothing he found is surgical so he can't help you."
I said "ok then can i set up an appoint to talk with him about what to do next" she told me "no, you are vocational rehab you get your results over the phone" i spoke to the rehab counselor and she was upset also she tried to call the office to get me an appoint. and they never called her back. my rehab counselor said she deals with this kind of situation daily and she could not even recommend someone who would treat me fairly.
so, i brought my reports in to the family dr. and he thinks something is compressing my spinal cord but didn't show up, he was shocked when i told him how they treated me.
if only dr. dinh had not moved to peoria,IL i would know what to do. he is such a great neurosurgeon and person, i called his office in IL and he remembered me, his nurse told me he would look at my reports and let me know what he thinks. but even if i get the money to go to peoria, voc rehab will only pay for a mississippi dr. at least thats what i think. Maybe i can ask them to pay for him since there are not many specialist that deal with thoracic disc injuries.
i dont know what to do ...i just am going on and on....all i know is i am a RN and i wanted to be a nurses since i was a little girl.. i graduated form charity hosp school of nursing which is one of the best nursing schools in the country and i was a RN at age 21 and got hurt 3 yrs later....i was off work for a few yrs..but nursing is my passion..i feel so much for pts. cause of what i have been through that i am the best nurse a pt can have. and mentally i am on top of the world when i work but physically it kills me..i work in a hospital on a med/surg and tele floor, i work ond 12 hr. shift and am usless at home the rest of the week . i have been doing that for a while now just one day a week and doing good finacially because i am very conservative with money. but i my legs wont let me walk like i should and the pain is unbearable....i will stop rattling now cause my back is killing me but thank you so much for reading my post.
IF ANYONE HAS BEEN TO A DR. (NEUROSURGEON)IN MS AND KNOW THEY WILL TREAT ME WITH RESPECT AND NOT STOP UNTIL THEY FIND MY PROBLEM PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
THERE ARE DR.S OUT THERE WITH GREAT CREDENTIALS BECAUSE THEY FIND OBVIOUS PROBLEMS AND FIX THEM , BUT THERE ARE VERY FEW DR.S WILLING TO WORK HARD TO REALLY HELP SOMEONE.
THANK YOU,
MELISSA

Here's another one but in Gulfport, MS - also board certified. I guess his group also gets referrals from physicians for previous failed spine surgeries. I also found his name linked to California, so I'm not sure if he really is in Gulport or if he moved or moved from California?

I know you had a bad experience, but keep yourself open to the possibility of other docs, not all are going to be like this last doc you saw. Perhaps he didn't think he could do anything to help but couldn't bring himself to tell you up front. Its okay to see several surgeons before deciding.. I was just reading another post not too long ago and the person was talking about how he/she was going to interview his surgeon. If you are upfront at your appointments and tell them straight out that they have to be willing to do anything to help you, that will prepare them and prompt them on how to treat you and so forth I would think. Tell them about your previous experience, I think some would empahthize with you and really want to help you. You might even be able to get a quick phone interview with them by calling their office and tell them what is going on with you and your situation, eitherway, try to get in ASAP! Good luck and God Bless!

thank you so much for your responses. dr. doty did surgery on my brother and my brother had no change in symptoms and his post surgical MRI still showed disc bulge. and dr. doty was highly recommended.
my main problem is the thoracic disc and most dr.s don't want to touch it because it is so dangerous.
i would try different dr.s if i could but i am going through voc rehab and they only pay for one dr. in each specialty and has to be a mississippi dr. so i only have one more shot.that is why i am so desperate to find on someone has had experience with.
i am going to ask them if they will pay for an out of state dr. so i can go back to the surgeon (dr. dinh) who did my first surgery and treated me with respect.
thanks again,
Melissa

Or you can also do the phone interviews as well as I mentioned before... call doctors offices and tell them your situation and see if the surgeon will give you a call back and hear you out and allow you to ask questions.
Good Luck to you, I pray you are lead to someone awesome who can help you!

part of me has to wonder if there is someone out there who can finish what your previous doctor started so that you can regain bladder function again, this is why second opinions are good as well, but I'm no expert, it may be what it is, but you never know, there could be hope, things progress in medicine as far as developments and procedures over the years. Some are minimally invasive with an endoscope.
