View Full Version : First Professional Ear Cleaning -- Now Left w/Vertigo?

Hey

Aside from motion sickness, I've never had a problem with vertigo. I'm female, 34, healthy as far as I know.

Six days ago, I saw a new doc for one of those prescription patches for seasickness so I could go on my hubby's company dinner cruise for the holidays. She checked my ears and said that one needed to be cleaned out, that her office would be happy to do that for me.

Well, the assistant did it, and I was a little dizzy right after. She said that was normal and it shouldn't last too long. The doc came back in looked at my ear and said it looked great.

That initial dizziness lasted a few hours and went away. Now, yesterday evening, five days after, I started getting dizzy again and I'm still a bit dizzy today.

Is this common after an ear cleaning with peroxide? If so, how long until this tends to resolve?

Thank you!

It's actually not common, most people feel less dizzy a few days after the ear cleanings. Because the wax impaction can press up against the nerve. Give it a few more days though.
