I was terrified, but the anticipation was so much worse than the procedure, and I feel pretty good today. I'm taking it easy, but I have very little pain. I actually think I felt worse after the LEEP I had in October.
Anyway, the results will be back in ten days, so now I just wait. Cross your fingers that the margins arre clear! The Leep confirmed carcinoma in situ and the margins were positive, so that's why the doc went ahead with the cone rather than watching and waiting. Apparently my CIS was rather "aggressive." These last few months have been a real roller coaster, and I SO hope I get the clear margins so I can put it behind me!
I hope all of you dealing with this stress find yourselves with clear margins too!

Sippycup, you were the person who offered your reassurance a couple weeks back when I had posted - this for which I was so thankful. You helped me relax, stay calm. And for this I have been appreciative of you and your strength. I will pray that your margins are clear, that your mind is rested, and, all-in-all, hope for only the best for you! Please keep us posted :)

Hi Sippycup
Hope you are feeling better. e2farley is right, you offered me support a few weeks ago when everyone else acted like I did not exsist. One thing, I was distressed about cyst on my ovary and lost smear results. Told that the cyst has burst as fluid in abdomin. Pain still there though and wanting to be sick.
You had said that you would think of me but could not relate as you have different prob.
I have been through all that you are going through at the moment. I had to go through it 4 times, and that is why I'm so concerned that they have lost my result for the last 4 years. In my country a strike is on, so it has haulted my results of the new smear they did nearly 2 weeks ago. All I can do is hope and pray that they are clear.
All the best and thanks for being kind and thinking of others:angel:

Thanks you two! Isn't it funny how someone you've never met can make you feel better? I felt that way when I discovered that there were people here who been on this ride before I had and could talk about it so calmly, and from a place of experience. Kiwi, I hope that your results find you quickly! I can't imagine having to wait for them for that long. I'll be thinking about both of you as well, and hoping that you get the "all clear" soon!

Hi again Sippy!
Glad the CONE went nicely and you are not in too much discomfort.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for ya.
Wishing you all the best; may your results be back extra-fast, with huge, clear margins on all sides, and let it be the end of it.
I am not due for anything except my post-LEEP PAP follow up in April. Hoping for the best. Hoping your follow-up will be clear as well. Post an update and take good care,
N

Hi Nia!
Good to "see" you! I hope your follow-up goes well and that there is not the tiniest bit of dysplasia to be seen. Let us know. I am always so happy to hear about people who get though and past this!

Sippy, just to understand your situation better, can you please tell me two things:
What were your Pap results? Did that show carcinoma in-situ

Hi efarley! Yeah, I had carcinoma-in-situ that was diagnosed by colposcopy after a bad pap. I think the reason they were not satisfied at leaving it with the LEEP (watching and waiting) is that I'd always had clear paps, and then within 2 years had CIS. I guess that's considered quite fast. Also, my lesions were large, and there was endocervical involvement. Hopefully the Cone will give me clear margins. Cross your fingers for me.
