Three days ago I woke up with a 103 fever that lasted 2 days. Now I have been left with a cough that feels like I am being stabbed in the upper back. The coughs are pretty violent and hard. I never had any problems before this. Any ideas? I wheeze a little bit and my throat is pretty irritated.

i would go to the doctor, it could have turned into bronchitis or pneumonia with the wheezing.

Well I'm not exactly sure its wheezing. It kind of sounds like congestion in my chest that is productive when I cough or clear my throat. I feel fine outside the cough.

I have the same thing after my flu that started on Thanksgiving I am still very congested and taking Mucinex.

This is exactly how mine started also. I hate having a fever, but the fever was the easiest part to get through. Antibiotics don't seem to be working for this. The prednisone and albuterol inhaler has helped a bunch though. I have also been taking Mucinex PE and drinking GALLONS of water to loosen it up. Beware that mine started th weekend before thankgiving and I am stil coughing. My DR says it has been lasting between 4-6 weeks!!! Good Luck and I hope we all feel better soon.
