Im just gonna have the spray i dont want to be knocked out huffnpuff 12-03-2006, 02:16 PM Good question to ask your doctor. I wouldn't recommend it, having had three endoscopies myself, I guess it would depend on what type of work you do. I felt very vague and a little out of it afterwards, but I did have the versed, not the spray. Guess I'm not much help. LOL baldy_1812 12-03-2006, 02:27 PM lol thanks anyway, what did they find out from the endoscope in your case? Ive never had any tests done to confirm i have reflux even tho ive been on meds for over a year so im hoping ill find out something huffnpuff 12-04-2006, 12:17 AM The results of my tests were that the opening from the esophagus to the stomach never closes. Acid was being splashed upward into the esophagus and several erosions had occurred. I was put on Aciphex, twice daily, morning and night. I can't see that I will ever be off of them, since the opening never closes, and I sure don't want to develop any pre-cancer because of the acid. Test for the H-pylori bacteria was negative. The Aciphex controls reflux and digestive problems very well. Just don't know what the long-term use of the Aciphex will do. Dr. wants to repair and tighten up the opening, but so far I have put this off because a friend had it and still has to take medication. Hopefully when you have yours done, it won't be anything major, possibly just reflux and you can control it with medication. Prayers in your direction. Best of luck to you. Let us know how you fare. P.S. Doctor said I was probably born with the condition. |
