Hey everybody allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jorge and like many of you I've been dealing with the age old question "How do I shed These extra Pounds?". Well to be quite honest I think most of my issues were mental and lack of motivation that kept me fat. I've tried Atkins and lost an amazing amount of wieght in a short amount of time and kept it off for a couple of years, before regaining it and some. So then I did The Abs Diet, the weight loss was much much slower but I had energy and felt full for the most part. During week 5 I was down 12 pounds on the Abs Diet and twisted my knee and BAMMMM I was out of commission. I should of stayed on the right track and kept eatting the power foods that I had learned, But in stead I felt bad for myself and I let the inhury beat me. I got off the Abs Diet principle food but kept the eatting 6 times aday.. That was 6 trips to Mc Dee's!!! YUCK, well now I'm stuck with the biggest waistline I have ever had. at 5'6 and 233 pounds my BMI is through the roof, not to mention I had to for the first time buy a shirt from the Big and Tall, and trust me it wasn't cause I'm tall! I'm just BIG period! So for the last few weeks I have re-read the postings and I've decided to be the next inspiring story for those who want to try this life changing Diet. So here we go.
11/27/2006 44 inch waistline and 233.2:) pounds!

HI MP,
Good Luck. I look forward to reading your inspiring story:) Keeps everyone motivated. Gee I didn't think there was enough good junk food at McD's to warrant 6 trips a day LOL The only thing I ever liked there was the french fries and the chicken fajita (not the mushy ones though).
I never heard of the Abs Diet. What do you eat on that?
My diet generally consists of healthy food. I try to eat as much of it as I can manage into about 1300 calories and then give myself another 100 or so for a snack. I mainly eat lean meats, fish or soy protein, eggs, cheese, whole grains, brown rice, fruits, veggies, yogurt, nuts and peanut butter. For exercise I generally walk about 3 miles a day, 5/6 days a week and I joined a gym 3 weeks ago so I use that for weight training and also cardio if it's bad weather. At the gym for cardio I usually use the elliptical and treadmill. Last Jan I was 282 and today I am 186 so as they say the jouiney of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Congrats on taking your first.

Hey Ktt,
Thanks for the inspiring words. You're right about one thing and that is taking the first step. To anwser your question about the abs diet, well lets just say it's the basic od food nutrition pretty much what you eat but spead out through out 6 meals aday. In just 7 days time I dropped 3 pounds so that very encouraging, plus the food is good and I'm not cutting out tons of stuff, just sugar really. I think that's awesome to drop that much weight, and even though it was long and took decipline I bet it is worth it now.
Thanks,
Jorge
