Hi every1,

My name is Meagan and Iam new to this board.
I have epilepsy Ive been taking Depakote for blanking out. I was just wondering if there is anyone else who is taking this Med. that can tell me alittle about it. Because Ive been taking this med for almost a year now and I have noticed Ive gained over 100lbs on this medication in just a year.

Thank you for your help,

I did the same thing. I was on Depakote for about three years. I have gained about 60lbs. I just recently came off of that medicaton. I take Neurontin now. I don't really notice any further weight gain yet, but no weight loss either. I guess just wait. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

What kind of seizures do you have? I have complex partial(s), it sounds as if you might have the same thing. The blanking out. I was at work (on lunch) and I went into a seizure like that, I watched an entire television show, but could not tell you what happened. Just the fact that I was watching it. It was pretty weird.

Take care. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi Pretty_kitty,

Yes I have complex partials. I have also experienced weird stuff like that while watching a great movie. Like the first time I'll watch the movie I dont relize that I'm missing anything. Then I'll watch it again and wont remember any of those parts of the movie.
