I've posted on here a couple of times after my surgery. I've been having a lot of pain. A couple of days ago, I turned my neck & felt something pop. Today I am having extreme pain across my shoulder blades & down my arms. I've also started having sciatic pain that goes down into my legs. I feel sick today and maybe a little feverish. My next appointment isn't until Jan. I've called the doctor twice telling him how much pain I'm still in, he just says it's normal. Today, I just don't feel normal. Has anyone else had this problem, or should contact my regular doctor? Thanks

Hi
I Had my surgery (2 level c5 thru 7) mid Oct. Although I have not heard a pop I am in spasm hell and the back of my neck throbs. Don't you love the comfort you get from the medical team? If you are going to pt they can give you exercises, and work it out thru massage but nothing works like ice and moist heat I also purchased a Thera Cane that allows you to relieve spasms in areas I could never reach!

I suffered from siatica until my P/T got me with a 16" exercise ball qand with a few minutes a day for 2 wks it was gone.

Sue,

Keep monitoring your symptoms, it's possible something is wrong. If it doesn't improve demand that you be seen.

I had some pops and cracks the first couple of months. It usually isn't a problem. I felt dizzy and ill many times in the first three months, again not unusual. A lot of the pain you are feeling could be muscle spasms.

Are you doing hot and cold packs?

Dennis:
What is a good way to do the hot and cold packs. I never seem to like cold so I have only been using heat on my muscle spasms for the past 5 yrs. Heat seems so relaxing compared to cold. I know many people do the alternating thing, so i want to finally try it.
