I always get these dizzy and light-headed spells. I could be sitting there and all of a sudden I feel light-headed for a couple of seconds. And when I get up from a lying position, I feel extremely dizzy. And there's no way I can hang upside down without feeling nauseated. I went to see a family doctor but he said this is normal. But I'm only 30 and never had any other health problems or operations before. My blood pressure is normal. I am concerned that there might be something in my brain causing this? But the doctor doesn't recommend me to get a brain scan because he said it is too harmful to my body. What should I do?

My mom has similar symptoms like you have, and it turns out it is a problem in the inner ear. I think it has something to do with the liquid in your ear that helps you to stay balanced. When she goes through a bad spell she can barely move her head without feeling light headed and almost fainting. There is help though, she can go and get a treatment done and it lasts for a few years (if I remember correctly). If you want to know more details let me know and Ill get more info off her. :) Hope this helps

Hi Tara, yes, please let me know more info on this. I have been feeling light-headed for many years already. I went to see many doctors already, and none of them really know what's going on. It is getting so frustrating. I hope it is a problem with my ears, and not a brain tumor or anything.
Thanks for your help in advance. :)

This sounds very much like an inner ear problem. Check out the inner ear board - you'll get a lot of help there.
