I have been on these boards quite a bit recently and reading the posts really do help when it comes to trying to keep yourself thinking positive. It's nice to be able to read someone else's similar experiences. It certainly helps me to better understand things although I do at times wonder like....

I had my first colposcopy done last Dec. after my Nov. pap smear came back abnormal. The result was mild dysplasia. I had a repeat pap done in June and the results came back that there was no change and my dr. said I should just come back in another 6 mos. I had another pap done last week and my dr. called me today saying that it has gotten worse and that she wanted to see me for another colposcopy which I schedule for early Jan.

I just feel like there chances are good that it is going to go further than just another colposcopy. I mean..is it possible that it's just another colposcopy and that's it until another repeat pap? I realize it all depends but as every other post says I hate this wait and see thing.

If you have any insights specific to my situation I would truly appreciate. The more to keep me thinking positive and from getting myself extremely worried, the better!

good news is that you are catching it early if there is something. when you have test like these, i think you will always wonder what is around the corner. remaining positive has helped me. enjoy the holidays and try not to worry. good luck in jan

I am sorry that you have to go for another colpo and that your doctor didn't give you more information other than to book one. Can you make an appointment to see your doctor and discuss what the latest pap result is? I like to collect copies of all my reports. Sometimes it makes me worry more, but I also find it oddly comforting to have the reports because then I know exactly what I am dealing with. Knowledge is power, but when you search out that knowledge you have to control your fear, otherwise you will be a basket case. Talk with your doctor if you can, and let her know exactly how you are feeling. Good luck!

Your story sounds a little like mine. I went for my first colpo Dec. 23rd, and also had a biopsy done after my October pap came back abnormal. In April I had leep done and goin back for my results everything was okay. In October I had my 1st pap since having leep and it came back abnormal again, so I am also scheduled to go in January for another coloposcopy. Which the difference between me and you is I had moderate/severe dysplasia. I wish you the best of luck and hope everything comes out great for you. I'm sure it will. I was so worried when I got this news again, but being on here made me realise to stay positive and hope for the best. It's nice to have other ppl to talk to who are also going through the same thing who will give you support.
