Ok so my bf has in the past used anadrol for body building purposes
on his second last day of anadrol 100mg, he pissed visible blood, so he dropped it the next day no visible blood, went to the doctors and had some tests yes blood present, liver values 3 times wat they should be but no sign of kidney or urine infection, that was like 5 weeks ago.
Now he has just had a urine test and has come up with blood still being present. He started taking Milk thistle to help heal the liver 5 weeks ago and the doctor at the time had advised that it would heal naturally etc nothing to worry about.
Yet 5 weeks later there is still blood present which to me is something to worry about - so would anyone have any advice he is going back to the doctors today but I'm thinking of ways to help get the healing process going/get him back to healthy. Had no other sides and no visable blood etc.

i think at this point his doc should be referring him for at the very least,an ultrasound.the steriods may have not actually "caused" the problems he is having but instead was just the trigger that made the symptoms appear.this does happen with certain meds.there could have been an underlying problem for years that he was just never aware of til the steriods kind of 'pushed' things over the top.had he ever had his labs checked previous to this episode?if not, there really is no way to know for sure whther the steriods actually created the problem or just "enhanced" it.do you know what i am trying to say?the thing is,he obviously has something going on somewhere along the urinary tract along with the liver.there are a few different conditions that do involve the liver and the kidneys together.he really DOES need to have that ultrasound as soon as possible to really be able to SEE whats going on.this will also be able to check actual blood flow thru the organ vessels as well.they use a doppler tool.this will tell alot about how the actual function of the organs is.labs alone only give a very small part of overall function or any possible damage to the organs, trust me on this one.my kidneys are loaded with huge polycysts as well as my liver,my kidneys are also both over three times the norm in size, but amazingly,if you just looked at my labs alone you would never even suspect anything was really going on since all of them are still(knock on wood)within all the normal ranges.so,you see,the high labs could be a possible issue but taking a look at the organs themselves will reveal much more valuable info.they really DO need to look at his liver and kidneys.he could have many possible problems some are not so bad but others are not so good.the testing will reveal which is more likely.
i wish you both luck, and please keep us posted on what you find out,K? Marcia

Thanks Marcia
Thats what my concern was that there is an underlying problem, either way I will find out soon enough, he is at the doctors as we speak!
