View Full Version : Headaches with pressure and Velcro ripping sounds

Hey everyone
I have been reading some of your posts and don't seem to be finding anyone else with my symptoms. Maybe if I post some of them I can find some answers. I have had a weird pressure headache for about 2 months. It started with a weird clicking sound in my brain area. When I would wake up in the morning and would adjust my head on my pillow a weird clicking sound would occur. If I pressed my head against my pillow it would snap or click, and it would feel kinda good because the snap or click would feel like some pressure would be released. Then every few minutes the pressure would build up again and I could just push the side of my head with my pillow or my hand and the clicking or snapping would relieve the pressure again. At first this would only happen when I woke up in the morning, but it turned into an all day event. But now 2 months later it seems to travel all over my head. Sometimes its in my brain area, sometimes its near my neck and behind my ears.
And now if I push the side of my head it sounds like Velcro ripping apart. I got to the point that the pressure and snapping, clicking and Velcro ripping consumed my entire day and I could not concentrate. I got really scared and went to the doctor. I had lots of blood tests and an MRI. While waiting for the results it seemed to be getting a little better only having problems every other day. The MRI and all the blood tests came back normal.(thank god, I was convinced it was a brain tumor) Now a week after the MRI results it seems to be a problem 4 days out of 7. Anyone have anything like this? Or know what it might be?

Thanks to all, and let me know if you have heard anything like this before.

Try taking 2 Advil and 2 Percogesic for the pain, and applying a heat bag to the area, then doing some gental neck stretches.

See a physical therapist for some hands on work, and a regime of suitable excersises.

Hi and thanks Aussie Jono

I'm going on my 3rd month with this weird headache. I have tried heat bags, cold packs and every OTC pain reliever you can think of. My reg doctor has given me vicodin for the pain. And all that really does is take the edge off. I still have pressure and the crackling / snapping sounds all over my head and brain. The pain to be honest is not the main issue. Its the pressure throughout my head and brain. With every turn of my head I have the crackling and snapping sounds and its hard to keep focused on anything else.
I do have an appointment with a neurologist on Jan 2ND but I am afraid It will be just like lots of other people on here and they cant find anything and that sucks because I cant live like this for much longer. Ill just keep my fingers crossed that The neurologist will have some answers. Thanks for your help.
