Hi all. I'm new here, and have a question about my son.
He is 12 years old, and has been seeing an endo. We thought he
had a thyroid problem. He is overweight(although losing), we had to
take all bad carbs away. That FINALLY helped him lose weight.
His AST and ALT are VERY high. We have had lots of bloodwork done,
and just got an ultrasound of the liver. Fatty liver, I think.
Endo. had nurse call, and say they wanted bloodwork again in 2 weeks, that "something" wasn't right with the liver. Of course, she would say no more.
What could this possibly be? He also has a high glucose level.
His AST was 101 with range of 8-34
His ALT was 134 with range of 12-49
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and the weight thing, none of the rest of us has a weight problem, so I don't know where that comes from!
What can I do to help him with the liver? Thanks
PAM
