Anyone ever experience very thin small sores in the vaginal area that can best be described as resembling a paper cut? If so WHAT the heck is it and where did it come from? I get these from time to time, and no injury etc. to explain it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I had this happen to me. I found out I had Lichen Sclerosis. It is a skin condition of the labia. Do a search on it and see if your symptoms match. It can be controlled with steroid cream.

I have the same problem off and on. I was told, by my gynocologist, it was an excema realted problem. But if you post with the same issues on the herpes board, many people thinkherpes is the culprit. I don't know what it is but it's painful and annnoying. I used to get it alot more when using latex condoms. I use lambskin now (in a commited relationship) but it isn't reccommended for HIV or STD protection.

I get them from time to time if when starting to have sexual intercourse my spouse tries to go in to fast. It hurts for a second but the next morning in shower I can tell there there. They usually go away in a couple of days.

I also had that from Lichen Sclerosis. Topical estrogen cream helped a lot as well as Clobetasol ointment which is a steroid. Hope you find some relief. Sue

Is 3 times a day helping? The NP I was seeing told me to apply the Estrace cream 3 times a day and it does help.

I get these sores as well... if you do an internet search for "vaginal papercuts" you will find TONS of posts (some on this board) regarding this issue.
Women get them a lot but for varying reasons. Some get them from sex...some from a skin disorder like Lichen and some people like me, get them for no reason whatsoever. :) You can also get them from really bad yeast infections.
I went to about 6 different GYN's over a 4 or 5 month period... they all immediately say ITS HERPES! and then send you out the door... I had to get tested for herpes like 3 times before they would believe me that its not Herpes. Then they would say it was a yeast infection... it was not.... I went round and round.
Finally, I saw a GYN that decided it was time to do a biopsy. It was the worst experience of my life and I went through it all for nothing. The result was "dermatitius"... an allergic reaction...
Basically I have yet to figure out the cause...I can see no pattern and I can't figure out what triggers them. I have tried creams, fungal treatments... changing soaps, detergents...etc... I haven't had one for about a month so far, which is the longest I've gone without one for a while. *knocks on wood*
I wish you luck with it and keep us posted... I would love to know if someone actually finds a cause for this.

I get it once in a while. It seems to come from the friction from pubic hairs during intercourse (for myself and dh anyways).
If they don't heal within a couple of days, have the doctor check it out.
Do you use condoms? If so it could be an allergy to latex?
