I had sleep apnea as a child and it went away after surgery. But I still had a tendency of sleep walking until about 14. I have always had night terrors, but now I wake up in the middle of the night thinking a spider is crawling on me or my bed and I hate spiders so this puts me into tears. Then a couple of weeks ago I was staying at my brothers place and so were a couple of his friends and I thought I was awake but I was asleep and this thing flew over head of me and I thought I was getting attacked and woke up freaking out. Then last night I woke up thinking there was like a cord or a snake in my bed and woke up freaking out. My brother and sister in law came out and tried to figure out if I was okay. This is getting really embarassing and my heart also races because of course I am terrified. I don't know if I have a sleeping disorder or if there is anything to do about it. I wanted to find out from others before I paid the money to see a doctor. Could someone please help me out?

Look up sleep disorders in conjunction with night terrors. You may have a sleep disorder, and there are many websites if you google them that have detailed discriptions of various sleep disorders (dream related).

I used to sleep walk, and still on occasion do.. I clean in my sleep. Anyway, active sleep phases where you are physically active or mentally active can be a form of sleep disorder.

Best of luck finding a solution.
