I had the same. 3 things eventually helped me. The first was holding my husband's hand and telling myself that I am not really moving, I am stable in bed, I only feel like I am in a boat on high seas. Later my doctor prescribed xanex. I took it before bed time and it stopped the movement. The third thing that helped was acupuncture. Once lying on the treatment bed I felt in strong movement, but after the needles were in, I felt gradually more stable.

I am generally better now, but here and there feel like I'm in motion when lying in bed, especially after working long hours and stress. Now I came to a stage that I just lie in bed, tell myself it is false motion, and guess what, I just enjoy the ride (without paying rollercoaster fee!) . I know it sounds crazy, but after 8 years with this situation, I began to develop self-humor. It's the only way to live with it and remain sane.

Hope you find a solution that will help you. Getting enough hours of sleep is crucial for compensating from a vestibular problem.

i have trouble sleeping sometimes...it used to be worse when my symtoms were REALLY bad, but now i just have trouble sleeping if im having a bad week with the dizziness. it feels like im falling down through the bed, or that im swaying like im on a boat. i used to have really odd things happen when i tried to sleep when i first had labs over a year ago (i think it was ALL due the the really bad anxiety). Anyway, i used to wake up but feel like i couldnt move, but then about 10 seconds later i would be fine. Not sure what that was all about, but it happened a few times and scared me really bad! Wondering if anyone else had this type of problem? I actually posted something about that experience of mine in the 'sleep disorders' section of these boards, and i was told it may have been some sort of sleep paralysis, which can happen during times of stress/anxiety, and at the time i was having panic attacks over this whole dizziness thing - so it made sense to me. but i do think a lot of people do have a hard time sleeping with these inner ear disorders, and i think most of that is due to having heightened stress all day trying to fight off the dizziness.
