I nursed my son for 8 1/2 months when he suddenly decided that he wanted nothing to do with it anymore. I got my period when he was about 6 months old and it has been consistently every 32 days for the past three months. This past month though (I believe I stopped my last period right before I weaned him) I have yet to get my period and it has been 44 days. I have taken two pregnancy tests and they were both negative but my husband and I haven't been careful because I thought my period was regular and I know which days I was fertile (at least I thought!). Has this happened to anyone else? Is it the fact that I weaned him that now I'm not getting a period? Thanks for any thoughts!

I just want to mention this because I feel it's prudent information (should you ever nurse again), but you son was at the age that "nursing strikes" often happen. It has been determined (by LLI, WHO, AAP, etc) that children usually won't self wean before 2.

As for the rest I have no idea, because of my supply issues I got my period back at 3 months PP. I just thought I'd share the above so hopefully next time it can be avoided. But congrats on going to almost 9 months, that's great!!
