Hello, this is going to be a long story...I hope you can help me
Since doctor doesnt help at all, I hope I can at least have asnwers that is closest to my symptoms from anyone that could help me and know what is possibly happening to me. I've been so confuse for a week and somtimes lead me to anxiety, because the symptoms somtimes makes me think I am pregnant or sometimes makes me think I have some kind of Acid reflux..But it seems worse than just acid reflux..Here are my symptoms...this starts happen 1 week ago..
1. I burp so much, and just keep burping till now for 1 week already...sometimes when I burp it comes out liquid..
2. I feel bloated, and I feel my stomach is bigger esp the upper ab..I guess that is because of the air inside, is that right? does this happen to anyone else?
3. I feel nausea mostly all the time, esp, after meals ( large or small, even drink water sometimes makes me nausea) this makes me no appetite to eat
4. I feel tired and sleepy
5. Started to get light headache
6. I feel pressure/ache on my back near the neck area
7. I feel a bit burning inside my stomach in the mid upper ab sometimes
8. My heart beats is not stable, somtimes faster
9. I feel tight sometimes ard the stomach below belly button
10. Somtimes I feel pressure also on my chest
11. and sometimes ard right waist stomach area, is that kidney?
Seems like i could random get pressure all over my body >.< its so scary
Sometimes I feel I am healthy. its like come and go..
12. somtimes noise from stomach
13. when anxiety comes, I feel the nausea even worse..
14. I use to go toilet regularly, but now not anymore..last time I went to toilet is about 3 days ago and its kind of minor diarrhea
I am only 24 and these all happens to me and to me it seems very serious >_< I have my period about 2 weeks ago and finished about 8-10 days ago which is a very heavy period..

Help me please >_< thank you

hi

I had simliar problems. But you will have to study yourself to determine what it could be. If you have lots of heartburn, you could have LOW stomach acid, or acid reflux. Its almost the same symptoms. I had terrible heartburn and very bad stools, almost exactly as you desribe.

Do you get worse heartburn with fatty meals? If so, I would try to test for low stomach acid, 30% of us have low acid. However, you are young and you might just need probiotics. If you have taken any antibotics lately, it will really screwup your intestines. Probiotics helps this quickly.

My solution was a supplament called Metagest by Metagenics. It works great, and I am sure there are others. The basic ingredients are Betain-HCL and Pepin. HCL is is an acid that helps digest and Pepsin is an enzyme that breaks down animal protein. Since the doctor can't figure anything out (big surprise) then you have to study your own digestive system.

here is what I do daily now:
1 tablet of Metagest with each meal
2 tablets of Digestive Enzymes (Metagenics Spectrazyme to be exact) with each meal.
2 capsules of Probiotics (Metagenics Probiotics) daily.

The spectrazyme and Probiotics will help anybody's indigestion. However the Metagest might upset your stomach, if it does than take rolaids to fix that. My wife does not have low stomach acid but she still takes Metagest with a big meal because it really helps her digest it. If you have heartburn, you can try a shot of lemon juice to see if reduces the heartburn.

Low stomach acid will cause all kinds of problems. Search for more info all over the net. Hope this helps, mine is just an example.

thank you so much for the reply, really appreciate it :)

I've been doing a lot of study through the net, figuring out what is wrong with me since the doctor doesnt help at all and I am so confuse if I should visit another doctor or going hospital, but I dont want to spend money just to heard the advice 'take gaviscom' or 'give it a few days it will recover by itself' which usually i heard from the doctor.

I do take gaviscom after meals, it makes my nausea a bit better since usually after meal I feel worse...and Yes, Fatty meals makes my nausea worse...since then I have cut down fatty meal. I used to eat a lot of spicy food, but I've cut it down totally.

I am not sure how worse my heartburn is after meal because I never had fatty food anymore. But still heartburn comes and goes, sometimes often sometimes not. I can get heartburn whether empty stomach or after eating, sometimes when sleeping, or when wake up..it can happen to me anytime, especially when I get anxious...

I did not take antibiotics. And I would like to know the medicine you mentioned before, do I need prescription for it? or I can get it anytime in pharmacy?

And I would like the advice, about acid reflux or low stomach acid...how do I differ which one I am suffering from?
e.g if I take a shot of lemon juice and it ease heartburn and nausea, does it more likely that I have low stomach acid?

thank you

Hi brunetti

You discribed my symptoms quite well! In short all you said is exactly the same as mine. You should see a doc to confirm weather u really are having GERD or what... although all of the synptoms u said is exactly that of GERD it is stil better to be sure.. and so the doc can give you the right meds.. ive had endpcsopy done and took all medicatins.. but nothing seem to work.. as is so typical of GERD.. my symptoms are just come and go... today i feel fine but it really gives no sign on when ti will attack again.. im off to see my GI later.. i'll keep you posted if I found something helful.. ,meanwhile try to relax, anxiety makes it worse.. drink ginger tea it helps alot esp in nausea. just boil a large chunk of crushed ginger with a cup of water and add brown sugar.. that also relieves bloating.

good luck to us

Brunetti,

You may like to consider trying a couple of doses of Arsenicum Album 30c. Arsenicum Album 30c is a homeopathic preparation from Arsenicum Tri Oxide attenuated ten to power 30 time. It is perfectly safe . I can vouch as I have used it many time with good results. It should be available at a local health food store or a web homeo store.

Hope this helps

I had many of the same symptoms especially the constant burping & bloating. No longer have a problem. What helped me is Probiotic 15-35 with NutraFlora. I take two capsules a day which contains 15 Strains & 35 Billion Microorganisms. This is the good bacteria. I learned about this product from a Health Newsletter. A two month supply is about $28.00. I'm now down to taking one capsule a day formerly two. I also drink each day a few ounces of Kefir (cousin of Yogurt) which contains Probiotics. I get the plain and add a bit of Pomegrante juice. Very tasty.

Good Luck Brunetti,

I agree that probiotics will help ALOT. As far as the Metagenics products, I buy them online no prescription. However, you can find substitutes at the local vitamin store - the only difference I have found is that the vitamin store stuff is not as potent, so i have to take double the amounts. Enymzes, Priobiotics, Betain-HCL-Pepsin (the quickest heartburn cure), and Fish Oil are generally the consensus.

As far as knowing whether you have low acid or GERD, well my doctor feels its the same thing! Nice thing about low acid, it is very treatable. GERD as far as I can tell on these boards, it not treated very successfully. Please try the Betain-HCL-Pepsin product Metagest, or something like it at your vitamin store - it will should help significantly.

I have similar problems. I have had a barrium swallow that revealed mild to moderate reflux and a colonoscopy that showed all is fine there (thank the Lord). My doctor has tried me on Zantac, Aciphex, and now Protonix. Nothing seems to help. I am not sure that my problems are acid reflux. Tomorrow I am scheduled for a gall bladder ultra sound and two days later for a HIDA scan of the gall bladder. It seems that gall bladder problems can act a lot like acid reflux.

I hope we find something that will stop this pain. I have had pain almost every day for the past 4 months.

You might want to ask your doctor if your gall bladder could be your problem.
Hope you get better.

I have many of your same problems, Brunetti! Doc tells me it might be a motility problem(my stomach might not empty fast enough) and gave me erythromycin to help out. I have also changed my diet and do not eat within 2-3 hours of bedtime. I hope you find your cure! I am still searching but am getting there.

hi jimmymc ,

I had gallbladder problems and I thought it was acid reflux. Turned out to be low stomach acid. same symptoms. I take betain-hcl and probiotics and pepsin. Now I am cured and my gallbladder hurts no more. I can't believe it, but my doctor cured both heartburn and gallbladder pain!

oldman21,
I have notice you have written on several occasions about low stomach acid. I have that in my mind but am going to wait until I have the HIDA scan done in a couple of days before I try something different. I have already gotten into the problem of having too many things going on at one time and confused about what is causing what.
Thanks for the advice. It is really confusing when I read different boards and find similar symptoms for various conditions. I find that even the doctors are guessing much of the time.

Hi everyone...

Sorry I have been absent for a few days..been very very busy lately...

I've been feeling really well lately...dont really have any vitamins or medications taken..things like nausea, headache, burping or bloated has totally gone..(thanks God! I hope it will never come back again ) but about a few days ago I had a extreme sore back around waist area...I think it was because I walk too much that day...I am not sure..but everything's going well now except constipation problem...I dont know what should I do with this..I eat veges, fruits, drink water..but it just not working...so after like 5 days...I cant bear anymore, i went to pharmacy and he give me laxative tablet...I have no choice..I couldnt swallow more food unless, it came out...after taking only once laxatives tablet....the next day, I can go to toilet and I feel a lot lot lot better....but I know i cant take too much laxatives because too much is not good..so I never take anymore..and continue with lots of fruits, veges and water..but now...I am still constipated for 3 days..I am afraid that will cause all the nausea and others back again...

Does actually constipation, cause same symptoms as acid reflux or low stomach acid or gallbladder or gerd..i wonder........

I wish good luck to all of you and hopefully we all can be on top health again :)

Hi.. I am glad to hear brunetti that your feeling quite fine. But I would still advice you to be careful on what you eat.. I have been on the same cycle... one minute I will feel ok and just catch up on things I miss out on (food of course) then it would start of as constipation... then will later develop into bloating and then the rest follows... I have learned my lesson not to over indulge even when I am feeling fine... and even i do that there are still times that the feelinsg come back... just be careful and eat healthy.. maybe the idea is just to learn to live with this thing... good luck to us... oh by the way.. wasnt able to see my GI.. apparently shed been busy and went out on a holiday... I am on th elook out for a new GI. Hey keep me posted.. take care

I agree with Chikkie, Brunetti! I was feeling ngreat for the first time in a couple months a few days ago and decided to eat a lot more(especially sweets-I have a craving for ding-dongs all of a sudden). Now I am starting to feel the nausea creep back in and my lower back is starting to ache. All signs my symptoms are about to explode!!! Uh-Oh! I am going to try and stick to my diet this time. I am getting scared though. When these symptoms come and my lower back get tight - my stomach also gets tight and its hard to breath. I guess I'll have to tough it out again.

If you are on the main "Acid Reflux" forum page, look at the upper left. Just above the "box" of message listings there, you will find the "New Thread" button. That is what you need to start a new thread yourself. ;)
