Hello Everyone
So lately I've been a bit on edge and frustrated with what's been going on with me mentally. I was Dx as having bipolar II several years ago, in addition to OCD. I had a few other Dx as well, but I seem to have recovered from them and am no longer on medication for them.
I've been struggling a great deal with insomnia, it's been a chronic condition in my life - and I've been on just about every med out there to treat it :dizzy:
I saw my psychiatrist this evening. I have a long standing history with her. She has seen me at my worst of times, which are, thankfully - far in my past!
I went into my appointment simply frustrated and tired of everything. I explained to her my symptoms, and said that while I have always had them to some extent, they are just now really obviously negatively impacting my life. The restlessness, the distraction, the impulsivity (which I have always had, but contributed to the bipolar) - being "flighty", not able to relax, even when I am doing things that are classified as "relaxing", always getting side-tracked, and so on and so forth. At the end of our session, she Dx me with ADD, and has written me a script for Adderall XR.
While I am pretty psychology-savvy, I don't know much at all about ADD/ADHD, so I guess I am just looking for some support or personal experiences, etc.
Thanks
