Hello Lilo, I am not too familiear with cipralex but if it is a SSRI (anti anxiety/anti depressant) they usually take 2-4 weeks to kick in. For some people they actually get more anxious and depressed during the first few weeks. But eventually it should help you cope from what I have heard about them. I was actually contemplating taking Paxil but I chose to go the holistic route even though the ear fullness and anxiety were getting the best of me. Now I am no longer too anxious or depressed but I still have the linger inner ear problems that don't seem to go away. Good luck with everything and hang in there :)

Hey L
I have had BPPV for a couple of years, it came on two years after having a major dose of labyrinthitis which put me through the ringer for a very long time. In the past two years since coming down with BPPV I have had one recurrence which was pretty minor compared to the first episdoe. After about 4 months of suffering with the BPPV I discovered that I did not have another case of Labs (which is what both my doctor and I thought) but had BPPV and learned about the MEP which completely saved me. Since doing the MEP at home I stopped the vertigo and apart from one day this past July when I had a minor "spin" I have been dealing pretty well with it. Some days I still get some weird feelings, esp when run down or tired and a lot of that I think is actually from the permanent damage I did to the inner ear with the original labs episode years ago.
I have done a lot of work with learning how to deal with stress and how to avoid it so it doesn't get me down so much.
The big thing for me though was learning how to help those crytals move back into place. When you say you have had BPPV for 4 years, do you still "spin" or get actual vertigo? or are these feelings just residual from any damage that may have occurred because of the BPPV?
I feel so fortunate that I have found something that can make my spins virtually gone...and am always suprised to read on here that others who have a similar condition have not had the same success with the MEP.
I will say that because of my Labs and BPPV I have done a lot of inner work on myself and how I deal with stuff...for that very reason I now think of this disorder as a gift, if I had never dealt with this stuff I would never be where I am now in terms of self acceptance, for that I am a better and happier person.
All part of the life lessons we are faced with, we will come out of this one way or another so we may as well pick up something useful in the process.
Hope you are feeling some relief,
FC
