last year i went to the eye doctor and they told me that i could go either way....i could get glasses but i would be fine without them. i was wondering if it was possible that i got viral lab and it messed up my eyes and now a year and 3 months later im still having symptoms because of my eyes? do you think i should go get my eyes checked again and get glasses so that i can compensate better? is that a possbility? my docs think i should have compensated by now.

i notice alot of my dizziness has to do with if im looking at something thats moving too fast or if im laying in certain positions things kinda move up and down slightly.

what do you guys think?

I have had eye issues too with my VN. I find that my eyes cause my dizzy/dippyness...and that when they are challenged lots (stores/lots of moving things)...I get a heavy head.

I do think VN/Labs can cause eye issues. I know Subs had eye problems and he said the last 6 months of his recovery was visual.

Yep--for some takes a lot of time---seems to depend on---if u had various eye problems(correct/non-corrected by eyeglasses)before hand---the most difficult to overcome---is the lack of binocular vision---before---this junk---that seems to take quite awhile---fortunately for most---that is/was not the case---for me it was---and for me----it took a long time(at least 7/8 months--if I remember correctly))

Subs...

When you say you are 100% does that mean you never feel lightheaded/disequilibium? I have had moments of not noticing my illness (that for me feels like 100%)...but then have days that follow where it seems the dizzys come back almost worse.

It almost feels like my eyes are worse than better at times...

Can you tell me if this is normal?

Thanks so much!!

Hi Charlotte

Yes--when I say 100%---I do not feel any lightheaded/disequilibrium.

Yes---while I was compensating---I had that feeling/problem---after compensation(100%)---no longer had it---just takes time for vision---some times---just seems so long---to get there(at least for me it did)---but at the 100% mark---it gone---u'll make it.

Thanks Subs...

I guess after hearing that my pt said it usually takes most of his patients 5 months of vrt to get to 98-100%...I am a bit nervous.

I don't know if I will make that mark...

my eye problems are probably whats worst for me right now. i feel a lot less lightheaded then i used to (definately not gone though), but now my vision seems to be more of the problem...ive always had visual symtoms with this, but they just seem like they are more of a problem now then ever before. i dont know if its because the lightheadedness was so bad that i didnt notice the visual symptoms that much, but my guess is thats what it is. it is taking forever to go away.

Your doing all the right things(VRT,etc)for this junk---it is all u can do---that will beat it---each person is different---so it could be shorter or longer---don't give up on VRT, etc...---it is the only fix---my original Doc---told me six weeks...

Subs...thanks so much for you advice. My PT said he thought about discharging me...even when the test showed I was not 100%...I guess I don't understand that?

Tiff...I agree with you...my eyes seem the worst now...and like you I don't know if I was spinning too much to notice.

Sounds like it is typical...

Hi Charlotte

Just to say---I was discharged from VRT with PT---long before I reached 100%(solid)---suspect each place may do it differently

---after discharge---was told what VRT to do---and when to do it---from that point on---saw/checked by the Univ of Penn Doc's(no VRT)----think the VRT(w/PT) was stopped after 3 weeks of initial attack---don't recommend that---but for me---just the way it was

---it is better to stay with the PT---as long as u can/or until u reach 100%---but insurance---would not allow it---it was sort of----this is how u do VRT---followed by some visits---to see if ur doing it right---then good bye!

subs..thanks so much for that post. I have to say, I was getting really down on my prognosis...

I thought the PT was saying I should be 100%...and honestly, I feel better...but not 100%. This week I started a new gaze stablizing exercise...and it made my ear fullness come back and dizzys..so I was feeling very low.

It makes sense to give us the tools and then tell us what we need to do. However, I do think positive re-enforcement or help really can move us to better improvement.

You are really a Godsend to me...thanks subs.
