Now once i am asleep i have no problem staying that way but lately i can feel so darn tired but when i lay my head down i lay awake for up to 2 hrs thinking about nothing!! usually 50 diff topics go through my head nothing in particular!! i had been taking gravol to help me sleep but thats not helping me anymore i mean its making me tired but i still think! if i take a daytime nap or whatever i have no probs falling asleep within minutes but i dont get to do that often. sometimes ill be thinking and then realize hey stop it go to sleep and it lasts 30 seconds and im back to thinking again, why?!?!?

On step in sleep hygiene is that if you do not fall asleep within 20 minutes of laying down you need to get up and go to a quiet place. Sit there for 20 minutes-avoiding bright light. Either do nothing at all or something really boring-like reading the quarentee from your fridge. Then, after 20 minutes go back to bed. The idea behind this is that if you are in bed struggling to go to sleep then your subconcious will associated going to bed with something negative. Also, use the bedroom only for sleep and intimacy. Make sure that your bedroom is dark enough and comfortable. Keep you linens and such clean.
So sorry that you are having a tough time. The insomnia can seem like it takes on a life of its own. Take care!

Put an unwrapped bar of soak between the sheets and enjoy a good night's sleep. Yes, this sounds wacky and I thought so too when I first heard about this. Well, recently I was having trouble sleeping and decided to give it a try, it worked!! Now I am sleeping great every night with a bar of soap between the sheets.
I have searched trying to find out why/how this works, only thing I find is that it is still a mystery.
You have nothing to lose, nothing taken internally, and if it does not work for you use it for your bath.

I have no clue whether it should be scented or unscented. I used Dove regular bar of soap unwrapped. I put it a few inches over from my thigh between the sheets.
A friend used Lifebouy soap, another has used Ivory. I have read that almost any soap will work. Not sure about the scent or unscented.
It is still working for me.
I would love to know why/how it works. I have been searching the internet but only find that it is still a mystery but doctors are beginning to accept that it is true. Patients have been telling their doctors about success with bars of soap.
One thing about it, can't hurt us.

Wow! That is amazing! I guess I need to try that. I can just see that instead of sleeping pils a doc would write a prescription for a bar of soap.:D
