Hi Everyone,

Thanks :)

I would ask your pediatrician. Ours wanted us to give my daugher whole milk at least a few days before the one year appointment so that he could see and discuss any problems with the milk. But, each is probably different.

Ask your doctor, but I read that they can start milk at 1. Whole milk is important because they need the fat for brain development.

We actually kept DS on formula a little longer because he was such a horrible eater and we were worried he wasn't going to get enough nutrients. When we finally did switch to whole milk there was a bit of an adjustment. Had major constipation issues. Bleah! Fine now though! But at the time I was afraid the poor kid would be on formula forever. :)

i asked my health visitor about whole milk today she said if i switch ds from whole milk from formula he will need extra vitamin supplements because there is evidence to suggest babys don't get enough itamins from 5 portions of fruit and veg a day and formula has these vitamins added to it where as whole milk does not. she suggest staying on the follow on formula until ds is 2 years old although ds gets whole milk in his porridge and yoghurts. ask your health professional for their opinion though hth.
