Firstly, my god what a horrible experience, i opted for the throat spray. After i was told i was fine apart from i have a slight inflammation of the stomach. He took a sample to test for some stomach bug that causes ulsers so i have to wait 2 weeks. If that comes back negative where do i go from there! Also i was asked if i had stopped my medication b4 the scope i said no i hadnt, would that make a difference?

Didn't like being awake, huh? I don't think I would, either! Sorry!

What med's have you been on? I don't think stopping a PPI would do much for an endoscope. He's just looking for damage or physical evidence of various conditions.

Hey Glad you finally had the scope done. Sorry it wasn't a good experience. I only had one and was put out for it. Just woke up with a slight sore throat. My results were the same as yours. No damage just some gastritis on the front portion of the stomach. I also had the biopsy done that came back negative. Basically this test is just to see if there is damage being done. I had it about a year and a half ago. Treatment didn't change they just put you on PPI's and antibiotics if the biopsy comes back positive for H. pylori. Mine was negative for that. I still suffer from this thing reflux thing, some days better than others. It is frustrating.

holy moly! I've had 3 of them, and I personally would be ready for a padded room if I had to be scoped awake!

Versed and Fentanyl however....is not bad at all.
