My 8 month old is still not crawling. Actually, she'll be 8 months in a few days. My doctor just says "No! No crawling!" (probably because they can get into more mischief, and I guess he's saying don't worry). She creeps and spins her self around. She also occasionally rolls. Think she'll just skip crawling or is she behind? She also babbles but has not said any words, yet. Is 9 months the norm for talking? (I don't remember).

Also, does anyone know if 8 month olds can have yogurt? Have any of you done so? Does it prevent yeast infections in infants as it does with adults? When can babies have Cheerios?

Thanks.

hi paula ds is 9 months "no no crawling" here either ds gets about but is more interested in trying to pull himself to stand i think he has missed out crawling completely and is now ready to walk my dh never crawled either. ds does say mama dada he said daddy twice and gen yen yay what ever that means i have no idea but when i repeat it to him he laughs - bless him he is a proper chatter box but i have friends with babys the same age who just can say dada. tbh all babys are different ds has his 9 month check tomorrow and i have no concerns at all

Crawling isn't considered a milestone. You won't really see it listed in any baby books. There are several different ways a baby may crawl -- crabwalk, crawl only backwards, creep, roll... DS never did crawl. Nor did my cousin's two boys. They rolled, creeped around furniture and went straight to walking.

DS did babble quite a bit. I have a video of him at about 7-8 months saying da da da da.

As for yogurt. We did give DS whole milk yogurt. His doctor had encouraged us to give him ground up people food and avoid the whole baby food group all together.

I have an 8 month old daughter and she rolls and sometimes gets into the crawling position, but doesn't actually crawl. She will either roll or scoot, like a military crawl using her arms to pull her body across the floor. Like the others have said; it is NOT a milestone.

As for yogurt, it I have it is fine. They also have a yogurt for babies in that section of the grocery stores.
