Hey guys. I'm new to this and have a few questions. I have HSV-1 and get them on my face and genital area (usually the thigh area). I'm on Valtrex suppressive therapy and my skin as gotten really dry. I want to scrub my face with some kind of scrub to get the dead skin off. Right now I have a little red bump that just appeared and may or may not be a sore. It doesnt hurt. Just a pink bump. Is it safe to scrub my face or would I risk spreading the infection if it IS a sore?
Also, can anyone recommend something to put on the sores on my thighs when I have an OB? I know they say the skin is thicker in that area so it takes longer, but I'm on Valtrex and yet they hang around for quite some time. They never blister, just form a red bump that hurts and then shrinks down into a small spot, which lingers for a while.
Any advice??? THANKS! This is all really new to me.
